Transmission Executive Examination

Basic Information regarding Exam
This examination is held for recruitment to the posts of Transmission Executives (General and Production) at various stations of All India Radio/Doordarshan. This examination may be held after the gap of several years.

Age limit
18 to 30 years as on specified date of the year in which examination is held. Upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Physicall) Handicapped, etc., as per rules.

Minimum Educational Qualification
(a) ESSENTIAL:
1. Degree of recognise
University or equivalent qualification: OR A Diploma from National School of
Drama, New Delhi. OR A Diploma from the Film and Television Institute of India,
Pune. OR A Diploma in Sound Broadcasting.

2. Proficiency in the language relevant to the vacancy.

(b) DESIRABLE:
1 Acquaintance with the culture, traditions and literature of the area concerned.

2. Knowledge of the National and International Affairs.

3. Record of literary or dramatic or debating or musical achievements or publication on literary or scientific subjects.

4. Knowledge of other languages of the area concerned.

Examination Fee
Rs 50/-. No fee for SC/ST, Physically Handicapped and Ex-Servicemen candidates.

Part I-Written Examination -400 Marks
Part II-Personality Test -100 Marks
The Written Exam will consist of the following Tests:

1 paper I
Subjects – General Intelligence – 50 Questions
Marks – 100 Marks

2 paper II
Subjects – English Language – 50 Questions
Marks – 100 Marks

3 paper III
Subjects – General Awareness with special reference to cultural heritage of India – 100 Questions

Optional Subjects and Syllabus
GENERAL INTELLIGENCE: The questions in this subject will be based on understanding instructions, determining relationships, similarities, relevance, drawing conclusions and similar intellectual functions.

GENERAL AWARENESS: Questions in this subject will be aimed at testing candidate’s knowledge of the environment around him. They will cover questions on General Science, History, Geography, Economics, Constitution of India and Current Events. Questions in these subjects will be set mainly with particular reference to India and its cultural heritage.

ENGLISH LANGNAGE: Questions in this subject will be set to assess the knowledge of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, etc. There will also be questions on comprehension of passage(s).

Other Information Regarding Plan of Examination:
NOTE: The questions will be of Objective type. Candidates would have to attain
minimum qualifying marks, as may be fixed by the Commission.

Interivews Test/ Personality Test
The Personality Test will be held at the Commission’s Regional Offices only.
