Army Technical Graduates Course

Basic Information regarding Exam
Applications are invited for the course beginning in January and July, from male candidates for grant of Permanent Commission in the Army in:
(i) Corps in Engineers
(ii) Corps of Signals
(iii) Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
(iv) Armoured Corps
(v) Artillery
(vi) Infantry
(vii) Intelligence Corps

Indian citizen as per the Constitution.

Age limit
20 to 27 years as on the date of commencement of the course.

Minimum Educational Qualification
A Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunication/Computer Science/ Electronics/MSc Computer Science or MCA of MSc (Industrial/Manufacturing/ production/ Architect).

Details Regarding Selection Procedure

Physical Standards
Height: Minimum 157.5 cms ( except for certain categories ).

Weight: Correlated with height. Chest: Well-developed with minimum expansion range of 5 cms. Eye Sight: 616. There should be no past history of major illness/ surgery.

Other Information
Initial Screening and short-listing of applications will be done at Recruiting Directorate Army Headquarters. Candidates whose applications are found in order shall be detailed to appear at Services Selection Board on a specified date where they will be required to undergo Group Tests, Psychological Tests and an Interview which may extend for a duration of five days excluding the day of reporting at the Services Selection Centre. Two Stage Selection

Procedure: Two Stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test has been introduced at Selection Centres. All the candidates will face stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centres. The candidates who qualify at stage one, will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests and all those who fail to pass stage one, will be retured. Candidates applying for Military Farms category who qualified SSB interview will be required to be technically interviewed by Military Farms Directorate. The order of merit in respect of candidates for Military Farms will be therefore decided after they have qualified at the Services Selection Board Interview and also been cleared by the Department Screening Board. Selected candidates who are found medically fit by Services Medical Board are detailed for Pre-Commission Training at IMA, Dehradun. After completion of one year training the candidates will be granted Permanent Commission in the rank of Lieutenant and the are entitled to full pay and allowances and other benefits as admissible to regular officers.
